Reflections of the Small Screen: Fringe

While the television drama Fringe was initially compared to The X-Files, it proved to be a unique exploration of the unexplainable in its own right. Instead of the supernatural, however, Fringe is grounded in “fringe science” – scientific inquiry which departs from mainstream or orthodox theories. Fringe may be science fiction, but with its plots of possibilities that mirror the real world, and questions of moral responsibilities in regard to scientific experimentation, it is likewise a cautionary tale for our times.
