Reflections of the Small Screen: The X-Files

The sci-fi drama The X-Files follows FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully as they investigate unexplained mysteries with ties to the supernatural. While many of the show’s narratives sprang from the imagination of its writers, numerous storylines and plot devices were directly connected to real world events and the conspiracy theories that evolved from them, especially regarding aliens and UFOs. The X-Files itself might be fictional, but it contains a real world history of the unexplained as well.
