Popular Culture College Courses

The first college course on comic books was taught at Indiana University in 1972. Since then, comics have been incorporated into classrooms across the country at an exponential rate. Many universities have even built entire curriculums around the medium. Although Star Trek has been used in the college classroom since at least 1973, meanwhile, it has also become increasingly popular with university professors over time. Add the likes of Star Wars and Game of Thrones into the mix, and there’s a lot to be learned from popular culture.
